The Louis Vuitton Foundation designed by architect Frank Gehry opened its doors on October 24, 2014. The creation of the Foundation marks a new chapter in the patronage of the LVMH group and its maisons.
“A new space that opens up dialogue with a wide audience and offers artists and intellectuals a platform for debate and reflection. ” Bernard Arnault
Architect Frank Gehry imagined “a magnificent vessel which symbolizes the cultural vocation of France”. The architectural journey retraces the creation of this building, which has become an iconic landmark of the French capital – PARIS.
The Foundation is committed to making art and culture accessible to all. In order to promote artistic creation on a national and international level, it relies on temporary exhibitions of modern and contemporary art, presentations of artworks from its collection, as well as multidisciplinary events (concerts, performances, symposiums, screenings, dance etc.
Since the opening, major modern art exhibitions have taken place, always with a great success.
Right now :
For the first time, the “Monet-Mitchell” exhibitions stage a dialogue of magnificent artworks between the two exceptional artists : Claude Monet /1840-1926/ and Joan Mitchell /1925-1992/.
The emblematic artworks are staged to offer you an enchanting and sensitive journey, accentuated by remarkable visual and thematic correspondences.
The bringing together of the artworks of these two artists is a current event not to be missed, until FEBRUARY 27, 2023.
